ATAH

Our atah crafts are handwoven with the “Atah” root. Atah is a plant that grows in the swamps of Indonesia.

The handwoven technique is the same as that used for weaving shields used in festivals, and only skilled weavers can weave in the motifs. It takes the craftsmen 4 days to weave a placemat and 2 weeks to complete a basket. After weaving, the handwoven crafts are smoked with coconut husks, and turned into a piece of art.
